After recently updating to EE 1.6.2 and doing some redesign work, we’ve discovered that posts to our forum get stored as the number 1.  This only affects new posts and posts being edited.  It does not affect existing posts in a thread, and it does not show up during post preview.  The posts are being stored in the database, so there is a problem somewhere in the post-saving code that is simply returning “1” and nothing else.

Anybody heard of this before?  Any idea where I’d start looking?

Have you updated your Discussion Forum module as well?  Updating it should fix this.

The forum module is at v2.0.0, so unless there’s a more recent build, it should be up-to-date. (It’s also listed in the Modules section of the site as being v1.3.2.)

I’ll try redownloading it and see if that fixes it.

Arden, if the Modules section sees the forum module as being 1.3.2, you didn’t get the updated files FTP’d up to the right spot. But replacing those files should fix the problem you had earlier.

I believe Arden meant that it said 1.3.2 on this page, which I’ve fixed.  It does, though, sound like not all of your forum files are up to date, or that the server is using a cached version.

Problem solved.  Thanks for all the help.
