    Hi folks,
    I’m a new EE convert having seen the work of the fabulous Jesse Chamberlain

    Hopefully a pretty straightforward question, how do I limit the entries that are displayed by the weblog, ie I have 5 entries but only want to show entry 5 or the first 2 or whatever?

    Thanks,
    S

    Hi there Steven,

    To be able to limit the weblog tag in different ways you will most likely be using some of the following :

    entry_id=“147”

    limit=“10”

    sort=“asc”
    There are many more parameters on that page that you can use though. These two are just a couple of ways to do what you need but I would suggest trying them all out and seeing what they all do.

    Hope that helps?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Thanks Mark,
    That’s a great help. With most CMS I usually get the hang of things once the template/navigation is in place but EE is a bit different - in a good way. Still not sure about how to create a navigation system for my template though.

    Hi Steven,

    No problem at all. I think that once you have played around with the different settings a few times then you get a great feel for what ExpressionEngine can do and then you just start blasting ahead as then really it is just down to the individual to style the output and in this respect EE is absolutely perfect as you can make it spit out 100% valid code which is just great.

    Hope it all goes well for you.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
