Hello, I am doing a site for a church, and we will be posting pictures from events and such onto the site. Now, What would be nice (and easy for admins updating pictures), is to basically create an entry, and somehow include images from the gallery module. Is this possible? Or is there a better way to handle a gallery like this. I would appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!

I use the multi relationship extension. With that you relate it to a gallery and can select as many entries as wanted.
Another one is gallery cat that Robin came out with, using that one selects a category in a gallery and it outputs the category id, which can be used to show the gallery entries for the post.
I think multi relationship may be easier.

It’s a little more than the related entries as posted in the wiki. but that article may help as well.

    Jared,

Check out this this thread.  I just did the same thing, but I the template was set to XML, rather than a web page. Same scenario would apply to the webpage though.

Its pretty straight forward once figured out. First you set up your photo galleries, then in your custom weblog fields you choose “Relationship” from the type. Then, once the remaining details are finalized your posts with a drop down with the ability to select a photo from your gallery.. Very, very powerful.

Thanks for the replies! I have actually decided to go with 5pieces alternate gallery template. I used the foundation of it, and implemented it into my design. What I really like is thinking of the categories as albums and the ability to have a thumbnail image for that album which distinguishes it. Thanks once again for the help!

Glad it worked out for you. I thought you wanted gallery pics inside entries, therefore the two above, one to select a single img, one for many.

Yah thats what I originally wanted, but after I thought about it, I realized an actual gallery would work out better, although it took some time to get it where I wanted it.
