It also supports the HTML5 SQL storage functionality. I’m hoping this hits the iPhone/iPod Touch soon. It seems like Webkit has taken Opera’s position as the leading-bleeding-edge browser maker.

They’re the first to support floating-point HSL values in CSS (for instance, background-color:hsl(111,21.5,45.2)), which makes HSL a viable solution for the web color space. The first to offer client-side databasing. In-CSS animation is upcoming, as well. I’m also pleased to see that they’re throwing themselves at HTML5 rather than XHTML2.

Been using it for a week now. Bye bye Safari - hello webkit! I can’t believe how relatively bug-free the nightly builds are - I thought I’d be running into all sorts of issues, but not so. It even recognises all my Safari bookmarks etc. The Web-Inspector is my new favourite toy to. :D

Webkit is just a rendering engine, Safari is the browser. In fact, when you get the nightly, you’re getting Safari with the webkit engine, which might explain the stability.

Yeah, I know… It’s just quicker/easier to call the entire thing WebKit rather than “Safari with the latest nightly build of WebKit!” 😛
