We received a threat from our admins that if we don’t do something to reduce our server’s load they are going to take actions against us. Perfect timing of course… I am on the road. Grrr…
We have about 11.000 members. There are probably about 150 members active on our site on a usual basis. They seem to browse our weblogs and use our forums.
The server’s load is somewhere between 2 and 4. It was way worse before, but we fixed those issues. Now we are writing some of our expensive queries out to disk, which reduced our server load to a manageable level.
I am not sure, why all the sudden they are picking on us, especially since we focus so much on reducing the previous usage levels.
Anyhow. What is your site’s CPU load?
