I am trying to use the moblog module.

I was getting a “cannot connect to server” error, so I changed the 110 in the mod.moblog.php to 995.

Now I get a “invalid server response”

Any thoughts on what I should do now 😊

    Thanks!

also, I’m not sure which settings to show or which are pertinent to my question 😊

From searching around, it’s not going to be supported out of the box.  This thread might suggest some options, but it doesn’t look like the last person got it working on 1.6.2- so I can’t say for sure.

Thanks Robin. I created a new gmail account because it was easy. Is there another type of email account you’d suggest that is known to work with the moblog tool? ie: yahoo, hotmail, etc?

I just set up a yahoo account. Everything appears to be working well accept it won’t accept my password. (error: invalid password) Its definitely not the wrong password. I’ve checked the yahoo login with the exact same password. I can’t figure this one out?

Bump. Anyone have any suggestions for a free email account that will work?

Hi artiswork, free yahoo email won’t work as it doesn’t support POP3. I’m in the same boat as you as I have both of my emails (work and personal) hosted at gmail. Though I might try that fix Robin linked to. Don’t know any other free emails with POP3 unfortunately.

Sadly, the fix doesn’t even work for me and I’m on 1.6.0 on the site I’m testing. Guess I’ll upgrade to current version of EE after all. Would love to hear if you found a solution artiswork.

I ended up simply using the hosted mail from Media Temple because these other services weren’t working.
