This isn’t an installation problem necessarily, since I havn’t installed yet, but I want to avoid making a mistake from the very get go.

Do I need to install EE Core and then upgrade to Personal (the download of which doesn’t seem to be a packaged full install), or can I ftp Core and then ftp the changed/added Personal files, and begin the install at that point.

Basically my question is one of order. Either:

(Install Core) + (Update Personal) = (Finished)

    or

(ftp Core) + (ftp Personal) + (Install) = (Finished)

Thanks very much for any guidance. EE looks like it will be a lot of fun to play with.

Hi Katrar, welcome to the forums!

If you have no installation at all, then you should just follow these instructions using the full ExpressionEngine download, not EECore.

No need for the intermediary step.

Thanks for your quick reply, Lisa. I just redownloaded my license copy and noticed that it had the \system subdirectory the second time around. For some reason when I first downloaded the full copy it did not contain the system directory and I was going to use the core install to provide that. That little detail was throwing me off, but everything seems fine now. =P

    Thanks again!

Ah, that’s a bit odd.  But yes, you need the /system/ directory from the full version anyway. =)
