I’m a very recent convert to EE and have a bit of a conversion issue. I have around 4 years of data I would like to explore converting into EE. All of these entries will flow from one joomla table to be associated to one weblog.  I know I can build a custom solution to query and insert, but wanted to see if anyone had a tool to do this?  I’d also like to convert my current Joomla members to EE members?

    Thanks in advance!

The most common way for standard blog type entries is to export, or in some fashion, get them in the MoveableType format. Then you can import using EE MT import utility…
CP Home ›  Admin ›  Utilities ›  Import Utilities > Movable Type Import Utility

You might also check out this plugin… CVS-Grab
There’s also the Feed Grab mentioned in that thread.

Don’t know much about Member import but noticed there was member import utility…
CP Home ›  Admin ›  Utilities ›  Import Utilities > Member Import Utility

Good find, thanks Terry.  Also, for anyone else going down this same road check out http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/41783/ for a CSV Import tool. I should be able to export, massage the data in Excel and then re-import.  I’ll give these two a try.

    Thanks!
