    Hey guys,

We’ve mentioned before in a previous post about having a meet up some time.

So, I’d like to propose an event in London, dedicated to CodeIgniter and LAMP application development.

    Consisting of:
    * A few beers and getting to meet people
    * Showcase time: showing off some of the best work around at the moment
    * Mini-seminar: a quick talk with some stuff to get your head churning with ideas

    How does that sound?

I’m suggesting this takes place around April time, so that I can get things organized.
It also gives you plenty of notice so you can make your way down to London.

In terms of cost, it’s likely we’ll have to chip in a few bob to cover any expenses (we might need to hire a room in a pub for a couple of hours).
But, it’ll be mainly just an informal get-together with like-minded lamp rock stars.

I’m pretty determined to get this done, and I’ve got a few friends here in London who would like to come.
If it’s a success, this could be a regular thing, and it’d be great to see you guys.

    Just to recap:

    Where: Central London
    When: Around April 12th

This will work on a ‘confirmed places’ system.
So, we’ll start off with the idea of a small venue, and say 10 places…
When 8 are confirmed, we’ll find a bigger venue for 15 places, leaving 7 open…
    ETC

So, if you’re interested, let me know!

I’ll be there, been looking for an excuse to make the long hard journey cross-country to London, this is as good-a reason as any!

    Excellent news!

It’d be great to see you there, where about’s will you be travelling from?
I’m originally from Cumbria, and I quite often make the trek home and back (about 6.5 hours each way!)

    Hey Greg…

I currently live in London, (working for TripAdvisor)
But, when I do travel to and from London, if I’ve got the time, I don’t mind taking the bus… It takes quite a bit longer… but it’s really cheap (about 20 quid return).
But the train is much faster and more comfortable.

    You interested in coming Craig?

I live in County Durham at the moment.

Yeah I’m definitely interested if I don’t have anything else on at the time. And I agree about the coach - I recently went to Olympia for the BETT show and went down on the coach - didn’t get much sleep as I was right behind the driver’s seat (loud indicators and him opening the window..) but was loads cheaper than train.

From County Durham the train is £61.50 return if you book in advance, or the coach is £35 return from Durham.
I’m just putting a little info site together for this event, since it may become a regular thing.

Great, just a tube journey for you then!
I’m just putting the finishing touches on the little site for this event.

It should be up by tomorrow 😊

Well, I’ve got two possible venues for April 12th…
So I’ll finish up the website for this little event, get it online, and let people request places.

It’ll be in London (Zone 1 or 2) on April 12th… that much I know.
