Styles Removed from Site after Publishing

As soon as I make a new entry (via the CP, to any weblog), something happens and the stylesheet is disconnected from the site and I get text only.  As soon as I go back into the CP and Edit > Delete that newest entry, all is normal on the front-end site again.
Same issue, regardless of whch user I am logged-in as.

Why would this be happening?  Was working fine before, when I built the site.

What build/version are you running- and does this happen in both IE and FF?

    Hi Robin -

    1.6.1 and Build: 20080118

After publishing to any weblog, it looks like the style removal is happening in FF, but not Safari.

Ok, looks like it is happening in IE and FF (not Safari).  BUT, I am now realizing that it does not matter if I am publishing to a weblog or not.  It seems that if the site is just refreshed, it alternates back and forth between style and no style.

Here is how I am linking to my stylesheet, is this correct?

    <link rel=“stylesheet” type=“text/css” media=“all” href=”{stylesheet=main/style_css}” />

Dang- I’ve seen this w/1.6.2, but thought it was only that build and only in FF.  Do me this- can you see live headers?  Is the stylesheet coming back as html rather than css if you view it directly?  And are you on a windows box?

Lastly- get it to not show- copy the link to the css when it’s not showing.  Go directly to that link- is the link 404, or is it just rendering the css as text?  (And likely the headers are saying it’s html rather than css.)  Er- that all make sense?

I’m sorry, not quite sure what live headers are.

    I’m on a Mac.

When I do this, I get prompted to download a PHP file called “index.php”, but when I go through the same process with the CSS link that works, I see the css.  The odd part..the links are the same.

This is happening exactly every other time (not randomly), so could it be related to a switch variable or something like that?

OK- let’s try an update to 1.6.2 to shake out the dust.  If that doesn’t do the trick, can you link to the site?  PM me if it needs to stay private.

Let’s see what that gets us.

Weird- header is coming back css for me.  But not parsing like css.  Let me give Derek a yell on this one.  Meanwhile- check out his replies:
here and here- either of those help?  If not- I’m leaning toward this issue.

Take a look, particularly at the first two.  What’s odd with yours- I’m getting css headers.

Per your Derek replies suggestion, I used his fix I found here.
Not sure if I should consider this a temp fix or not.  But, it seems to be working now.

Thanks for the ‘heads up’- I’ll pass this thread on to Derek and let him know what fixed it for you.  This one is both quirky and rare, but he’s on it.  And the additional info definitely helps.
