I’ve been trying to come up with ideas for a logo for my blog, and maybe another one for the rest of my site. I haven’t had much luck since I have virtually no design skills.

The website doesn’t produce boatloads of revenue (nor did I ever expect it to), so I don’t want to spend a lot on a logo. Yesterday, I accidentally ran across a site called LogoNerds.com. For $27 they will supposedly design a logo for your site. Their samples look quite good to me, but I’m wondering if anybody here has dealt with them? If so, were you happy with the result? Any other services around the same price point that you might recommend instead?

    Thanks,

The price may be only $27, but think of the cost of a $27 logo!

Or even better, does anyone know of an affordable/quality logo designing site (if you haven’t dealt with LogoNerds.com)?  I’m looking for one as well.  They aren’t quite of the caliber I’m looking for so I’m going to keep my eyes peeled.

When your price range is down around there you are in “beggars can’t be choosers territory”.  What you get out of a company that charges something like that for a logo is going to resemble clipart with some fancy text trying to compensate.  They will likely not spend a lot of time on it.  And the revision process will be short if it happens at all.

I’m not a big fan of cutthroat pricing and its results on what is essentially an artistic endeavor.  Art takes time, even commercial art.  And those kinds of prices don’t reflect what really goes into developing a good logo.

Perhaps take a look at Logopond. See if there are any logos on there that you think are really good and then get in touch with the creators. There are some exceptionally outstanding logos on that site.

    Hope that helps.

    Best wishes,

I love some of the logos on that site…but what exactly is the site for?  I couldn’t find a way to purchase anything.

It’s a showcase for artists to display their work.  You would need to contact an individual artist to get a quote regarding your own logo.  Most of those guys work on a more normal system of payment then the cheaper logo sites.
