I’ve been using ExpressionEngine for the past year, and love the product. I’ve currently got four projects in the works using it, two of which are CMS migrations and the other two I managed to upsell as EE projects.

When I’m pitching the use of EE, I like to assure clients and prospects that it’s been around and will be around. I can’t seem to find the following anywhere. Can someone complete this sentence?

ExpressionEngine is the evolution of a product called pMachine, first released _____ years ago.

    Thanks!

“ExpressionEngine is the evolution of a product called pMachine, first released 6 years ago”

According to Rick in this interview:

I released pM 1.0 in January of 2002

Paul, you forgot to finish your sentence!

    I think you meant:

ExpressionEngine itself is coming up on its fourth anniversary here on February 8th, and to celebrate the joyous occasion, we’ll be releasing a beta version of EE 2.0!!

See - doesn’t that sound much better?  😉

Dates and history of all releases of ExpressionEngine itself can also be ascertained from the Changelog.

I am glad you posted that article Cocoaholic. I started using pMachine in early 2002 to create a website for my newborn son and had no idea that pMachine was so new at the time. The community was so helpful it just seemed natural for me as a early learner. I have since built several sites using pMachine some still in use today that I haven’t gotten around, or needed, to upgrade. What a great way to learn.

I actually just pulled out a old HD with my early pMachine sites on it and it is all coming back to me know. The emoticon hack, the forum implementation, the photo gallery.  - God I love EE 😊  - So easy!

Thanks to Ricks wife for being so supportive, Oh, and you to Rick.

Funny, I knew I had registered years ago so I looked it up. Unfortunately my pMachine posts didn’t make the cut 😊
