greetings,
hope all is well.
question for today: is it possible when using the multi site manager to export/backup data for just a single site ? if so, how ? i do not see anywhere in the CP to do this.
thank you in advance.

Hi, techyogi - no, currently this is not possible. The backup utility is installation wide. You could put in a feature request for this; but right now it would take custom manipulation to pull only the tables and information you want.

thanks lisa.
here’s the problem i am faced with.
we have 2 sites in our dev EE environment and the same 2 sites in our prod EE environment.
we added a lot of content to 1 of the sites in EE dev and now need to sync that content to EE prod. without altering the other EE prod site in anyway.
you have confirmed that EE with multi site manager does not provide a mechanism to do this on a site level and that without custom manipulation i would essestially have to overwrite our prod EE db with our dev EE db.
this is not good news and pretty much negates the benefits of the multi site manager, at least for our purposes. i will have no choice then but to code a hack to make this work. can you please provide me with any information that may help expedite this process, queries, tables/information, etc.
thanks in advance.

hey lisa,
just wanted to let you know we’ve decided to use a standalone install for the prod version of that site to handle the sync problem. thank you as always for your response.

Hi, techyogi—
Good to know. The kind of manipulation you were looking at doing would really be a custom setup, and you’re right, the Multiple Site Manager is not ideal in a situation where you have disparate development going on. =)
