    I am having trouble seeing why -2 - (-3) = +1

can somebody please help me understand why?

I am thinking minus and the numbers should go to the left but instead it brings it up to the right

    so -2 - (+3) = -5

    why I am confused now

a double negative becomes a positive.. so when you see a - - together, that becomes a plus.
    -2 + 3 = 1

It’s really quite logical. Think of it as removing a negative value, that will make the total increase.
