    Good Afternoon Everyone!

Being a code igniter lover I’ve stumbled across ExpressionEngine. I currently have a big project to overtake and I’m trying to weigh out if EE is right for the project,

My first main concern is multiple sites and flexibility.

I work for a schoolboard, our plan is to have one MAIN hub website (Our boards website) and also a website for each school within our board (32 Schools).

    Now our main website includes:
News Releases , Information Secions, Job Postings, Policy Posting ect.

    Our Satelite schools include:
School information , Calenders, News, and Info derived from the main website

Each website is there own entity.

    Main site: http://www.schoolboard.com
    School site: school1.schoolboard.com , school2,schoolboard.com.

Now heres the tricky part, we have tons of info on each site that needs to be managed by different users, They could be Admins, Principals or Teachers.

Admins have access to all entitys, Principals to a school, and Teachers to a section.

Now after reveiwing everything Im assuming this new multiple site feature is capable of doing this, Im just curious to how customizable the management groups is… Also, are we able to limit control panel features, like disable templates (we dont want teachers able to change templates) ect ect…

The last thing I was curious is how well EE relates to Code Igniter, are they built on similar structure, do they intertwine well?

I guess the next step is to get this thing up and starting demoing it, but I’d really like to know if some of you experts think EE is a good suggestion for my project, otherwise I’m going to be doing this from scratch in Code Ignitor, and that wont be fun :(

Thanks and have a great day!

PS: Lisa Wess you helped me out in email earlier, I’m just posting this because we had a couple more concerns 😊 Thanks

I knew this seemed familiar =)  Here is a definitive list of member group preferences - these can be set per-Site. =)

Id like to bring the code ignitor question back to life,

    and is this possible?

If I’m running about 32 sites on my MM site manager,

    ie:

    schoolboard.com

    school1.schoolboard.com
    school2.schoolboard.com
    school3.schoolboard.com
    school4.schoolboard.com
    school5.schoolboard.com ect

They are all sort of similar to schoolboard, is this unlimited or only up to three?

    Thanks

CodeIgniter is abstracted from ExpressionEngine. =)

You have to pay for additional sites past the first 3, but you should be fine with your setup.  Additional sites can be purchased on a per-instance basis for $49.95 (commercial license) and $24.95 (personal license).
