Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a reliable and cheap Windows box with Remote Desktop access?  We initially need about 30 GB of bandwidth per month.  The server would be running a Windows exe with about 8 open UDP ports.  Memory and CPU resources needed are not great.

Any advice appreciated.

Wouldnt pretty much ANYTHING do the trick? Slap VNC on it and you can run it on a PSP for all it would care.

What we’re writing is in need of a Windows OS as it’s running a Windows executable.

Why don’t you do co-location or something and shove your own windows box in someone’s data center?

I think co-located might be quite expensive. We’re paying $28.00 per month for a Windows VPS.  That price would be fine if the service were reliable. 

As mentioned in my first post, machine resource requirements are not great and a 256 MB VPS is fine. We just need a bit of bandwidth (30 GB per month)’

 
 

Good luck finding any windoze hosting that cheap!

I found these people in the UK - i think this service is about $70 in your money but it is unlimited bandwidth (if you believe that!)
