Question on Video Tutorials?

Is EllisLab against posting the video tutorials on YouTube?  Could this be done officially? or if no one disapproves can someone else post videos to YouTube?

I’m asking because, I’ve been growing our nonprofit profile page on FaceBook. One segment of the page is a variety of videos on nonprofits, technology, or tutorials of different technology that nonprofits use. I’ve posted a tutorial on using WordPress, but since we strongly advocate ExpressionEngine, I’d like to post a tutorial on that as well.

My goal is to only use videos posted on YouTube, since I can then manage everything through a single video management application, rather than using 3 or 5 different application.

So can the video(s) be posted to YouTube? If so, is that something Kurt or someone with an official staff title should do? or can anyoe post them so long as they are properly accredited?

If you are producing your own tutorials, by all means, use the tools and distribution of your choice, but for the tutorials and other videos contained on our site, we would decline from supporting that endeavor.  We appreciate both the sentiment and your asking first, though, to be sure.  Content ownership is of course part of the reason, but a large issue to me than is that the resulting video quality on YouTube or various other video community sites is so poor that it reflects badly on the product.  With such a reliance on reading text clearly through the tutorials, it would probably only frustrate someone if such a posting were the only context in which it was seen.  So please consider instead to simply link back directly to the videos on our site, instead of displaying them embedded on your FaceBook page.
