I know I’ve asked this before, but I’ve forgotten the answer!

I own 3 EE licenses, one commercial one for my company and one personal one for my blog. Both sites are running off the same installation. I have a third license that I want to use for another group blog with multiple contributors.

What I don’t want is for the group blog posts to show up in my own admin backend.

Can I put another installation on the same server? It will be a different domain name, but will run in a virtual domain directory and use a different database (probably).

I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, but figured I’d better ask again anyway!

Yep, it will definitely work.  You will need a license for each install (defined by having it’s own tables/db)- and if you want to keep the new site in a separate admin, you’d want either it’s own EE license- or you could go with a single install and the Multi Site Manager.  Which way I’d go just depends on the circumstances.
