Can someone tell me, functionally, how Quick Save works? How is it different, functionally, from a full Save? Does it post to the database? Held in a cache?

From the EEDocs:
When an entry is Quick Saved, the content is saved to the database, but you will remain on the Publish screen to continue working. Note: Pings and Trackbacks are not sent during Quick Saves.

To add to that: as far as I can tell, it doesn’t refresh the cache either.
