Jambor-ee’s been down for a long time. There’s no information on why, and no clue as to if it will ever start up again. It’s too bad—the “24 hours” series would have been really valuable :-(

What’s up, guys? Lost interest? Legal trouble? Too busy? How about letting the fans know?

I’m also curious about why this was taken down. The rest of the jambor-ee site was great as well and it’d be lovely to have it back online.

I’m wondering whether they had pressure from professional EE developers to take it down because it was potentially taking business away from them? Possible?

If anyone knows the real story it’d be very interesting to hear.

    Cheers

    Hi Jim,

As far as we all know they just got busy. As to pressure from other developers I doubt that very much as there is no law stopping a person from doing that kind of thing. Anyone here could start a site up tomorrow doing exactly the same sort of thing. In fact Mike Boyink has a site going doing pretty much the same thing.

I heard that very unfortunately (for people following the series anyway) that their client work got very busy.

    That’s what I heard anyway.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Hi Mark

I guess that makes sense… could also be internal politics as well, but it’s just a little strange that there’s been no official word from them about it.

I’ve followed Mike Boyink’s series closely over the last couple of years. He’s been a great help to me (and hundreds others I’m sure).

Perhaps it’s time for someone else to start offering tutorials…

    Cheers

    Jim

Hi Sean. I too noticed the lack of an RSS feed. Have contacted them asking about it.  I have grown to rely (perhaps too heavily!) on RSS in the last couple of years!

EDIT: I just checked the site, and it does now have a working RSS feed - Excellent!

I just visited, didn’t see an RSS icon and auto-discovery didn’t work.

    thanks.

There must be a problem with bloglines. Even that link didn’t work until I clicked the view feed xml. Anyhow I’m subscribed now.
