    Hi,

How does one set the homepage of a website with EE?

    IE, http://www.mysite.com

I tried this with site/index and clicked Make the index template in this group your site’s home page?but the website still shows the regular default homepage of website not the EE page.

Any ideas?? What am I missing here??

    thanks!

    Hi, josephvv.

Make sure you don’t have an index.htm or index.html file that may be coming up first.

    .htaccess info

    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm index.shtml

    is what you’re looking for.

    Make sense?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I had this in the .htaccess file

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond $1 ^(site|search|contact-us|weblog|static|P[0-9]{2,8}) [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L]

I copied from a thread that was excluding the ‘index.php’ Something there that is causing it?

    thanks!

It shouldn’t be.  If you access the new default template with the full url- mysite.com/new_home_template_group_name/index/- does it come up ok?  And does it still come up ok if you drop the index?  And what version/build are you running?  Plus- you didn’t specify anything in the path.php file for the default, did you?  (Unlikely, but possible.)

Hi, Joseph - please do not bump so quickly, a few hours is a reasonable time for a response.

Make sure you don’t have something like “index.htm” or “index.html” in your directory.
