Hi, a couple of questions regarding Simple Commerce Module:

    - Is it omitted from the trial EE version?  I can’t see it in the modules.

    - I am looking for a facility that has a browse products (300) and add-to-cart facility, with an option to view cart contents.  At this point in time the client doesn’t want to turn on payment collection, so just wants a shopping list emailed with the purchasers contact information.  Will Simple Commerce module cover these needs?

Look forward to hearing from you.

yes it’s not in the core version.

For the second question, I’m not sure how that would work to have it emailed. The Simple Commerce Module is setup to work with paypal. You may not need to use the the Simple Commerce to pull it off if all you need is for the client to receive and email. You could possibly just have weblog entries for each item and have it work with a form somehow to send the email.

Just my thoughts off the top of my head. I’m sure others will have more in depth input.

jez777 nailed it- the Simple Commerce module is only included with the Pro/Personal version.  If you just want to test it out?  You could try the hosted trial, which does include it.

That said- the SC isn’t a shopping cart.  It really just allows you to create simple links to paypal- and upon purchase, record data concerning the purchases by logged in members (as well as send them emails, etc.).  In other words- it doesn’t quite sound like the Simple Commerce module is going to do what you want.

Hm- I know Solspace has a ‘favorites’ module that lets folks ‘favorite’ entries.  That actually sounds a bit closer, though not quite it.  If you are wanting something ‘shopping cart like’, you may end up needing to do a bit of custom coding to get it.

    Does that make sense?

    Many thanks for the replies.

Understood - I will buy, or do the hosted trial.

Have something that I have used on other sites which I may be able to bolt on, but little bit nervous, as I am a EE newbie.
