Thanks for the quick response!
I just checked the spec, EE added namespaces, but validator is saying atom?
Harvard Sample
Seems the same to me…

Validator for EE RSS2
Derek,
I took the tempate from your link above, made a template and pasted it in. I get the same error:
EE RSS Default
.

for your feed: Congratulations!
This is a valid RSS feed.

Valid, but has error and recommendation:
line 969, column 4: Missing atom:link with rel=“self”

It is valid, but you are seeing a recommendation (read:opinion) from the validator’s authors. Here are the details. That link identifies the feed’s URL so some readers can better cache it, or transfer a feed from one device or application to another and maintain the connection. I don’t think that’s available to RSS, so you have to use the Atom namespace to benefit from it.
For what it’s worth, I find most of feedvalidator’s personal recommendations to be rubbish.

Thanks Derek.
I just didn’t understand the atom reference on an RSS2 feed. They pushing atom or what lol.
I’ll ignore it then,
Thanks for the help…

Well, evidently, the RSS Advisory Board likes some of the functionality of Atom and recommends including the Atom namespace as a valid way of getting access to some of these features. Who-da thunk it?
