    Can we have a setting in our preferences that allows us to choose whether the

    Notify me via email when someone posts in this thread

    box is checked or unchecked by default?

    I often forget to uncheck it and have to click the unsubscribe link.. then I post again, forget to uncheck it and well you get the point.

    I would also like to be able to “Unsubscribe from all topics” from the control panel as well. Seems when people are trying to get their post count up they have the habit of resurrecting posts from weeks prior with “I agree” or “Good point”

    I’ll have to keep posting in your threads, just so you get another email. 😛

    Mine is off by default…

    I think it’s the “Enable email notifications by default when you post messages” on this page: http://ellislab.com/forums/member/edit_email/

    Thanks Wales….

    *Feels kinda dumb atm*

    Should be noted I am sick and heavily medicated…

    Still have to deal with Post Whores… Or “Working Posters” as they prefer to be called

    I kinda like that feature, keeps me updated on the posts of interest cause you know, i don’t just go off creating random threads and replies here and there. Those ~100 posts are cold hard knowledge

    I think what I am meaning is when people go and comment on dead threads for example:

    User joins today and comments with a “I agree” on a post which had its last post made during that discussion in September.

    Then because I was subscribed I get an email… where as I usually follow along using RSS and that keeps thing fresh and relevant.

    Therefor it would be nice to unsubscribe to all posts to date.

    Lee… you aren’t looking hard enough again - too much medication 😉

    You can unsubscribe en masse in your CP under utilities > manage subscriptions (or something like that).  It might take a few clicks, but it’ll be done with.

    B’ah, given all you’ve posted here… I couldn’t make you look dumb if I wanted to (and I don’t) 😊  Plus you’ve got that sexy Canadian thing working for you…

    I had no idea about “Senior Member” status, so I had to dig through the source code.

    $sql[] = "INSERT INTO exp_forum_ranks (rank_id, rank_title, rank_min_posts, rank_stars) VALUES ('', 'Newbie', 0, 1)";
    $sql[] = "INSERT INTO exp_forum_ranks (rank_id, rank_title, rank_min_posts, rank_stars) VALUES ('', 'Jr. Member', 30, 2)";
    $sql[] = "INSERT INTO exp_forum_ranks (rank_id, rank_title, rank_min_posts, rank_stars) VALUES ('', 'Member', 50, 3)";
    $sql[] = "INSERT INTO exp_forum_ranks (rank_id, rank_title, rank_min_posts, rank_stars) VALUES ('', 'Sr. Member', 100, 4)";
