    Hello,

We are evaluating “EE” as a prospective CMS for a new technical portal.  All the features of EE seem great with the exception of the search feature.

    1.  In the forum, when running a search the user is redirected to a new page that says “thank you, stand by while we….”  Why is this redirect necessary, it seems to make searching feel like a tedious operation.

    2.  When running a search on the site or the forum, is it possible to have the keywords highlighted in the search results?  Is it possible to only have articles with the titles displayed.  For example, typing in a search request of “tutorial” on the main EE page brings up a lot of article titles, with only one that actually has the word tutorial.  What exactly is EE finding on the articles that do not have “tutorial” in the title?

    Regards…

It was the most efficient way to perform the search.

The Search Hilite plugin likely does what you want. There are also other approaches that people in the community have posted about. A little forum digging will turn up various options and approaches.

With EE you can set fields as searchable and also set which fields are searched. So returns in the search results may be from fields that aren’t displayed in the blurb but are elsewhere in the weblog entry.
