Using Edit within the CP I’m trying to view all comments that have been set to a Closed status.  I can filter by Open status and see them but Closed results in nothing although I know there are plenty of them in there.  Any thoughts?

Ah- I think it’s because if you go to the ‘Edit’ tab- filter by picking a status and then just ‘comments’ and submit?  It’s filtering on the status of the WEBLOG.  So if you pick ‘closed’ it would pick up any comments in closed weblogs- not closed comments.

Does that make sense- and is it consistent with what you’re seeing?

Oh poo!  That’s exactly what it’s doing and exactly NOT what I was hoping for. 😊

Now, this is the part where you say “but there is a way to find all closed comments!”

Ready?  Ok .... and .. ACTION!

Heh.  There’s always a way- just not necessarily an easy way.  I do believe there are hooks in there to extend the filter.  So- one option would be to write an extension.  Or find one someone has already written.  Actually, it would make for a nice extension.

Or- could maybe ‘fake it’ via a query on a regular template to find all of the closed ones- and maybe link to the control panel to ‘edit’ each or something.  Depends a bit on what you want to do with them- which may vary from just wanting to see them all (easy) to delete them all via one click on a toggle and a ‘submit’ (not so easy- I’d go w/writing an extension at that point.)

I’d be happy as a bug in a rug with an extended filter that can list them all with each one linked to their edit page.
