Anyone have any experience with integrating an upload progress bar with EE’s upload functions?

I’d like to see something like this too. Mark Huot has something started with his file extension, but as far as I can see it doesn’t give any real feedback as to file size or time remaining.

I don’t know how easy it would be to integrate with EE, but have you looked at the flash based progress uploaders?  There are a couple out but i can only remember http://www.swfupload.org/

I haven’t really looked into it too much, flash or ajax, I’m not sure which would be better. I see swfupload is a plugin for drupal. Perhaps it could be an add-on of some sort for EE.

I remember looking at ajax vs flash a while ago and I think i came to the conclusion that flash progress bars seemed to be better.  They seem to be used more on high profile sites compared to ajax based solutions.

Looking at a few websites it seems Friendster.com is using fancyUpload, and vimeo.com is using SWFupload.  I think youtube also uses flash but I think they developed it themselves.

This would be really great to have. I know Mark’s got something in the works
