Im using Leopard now….its like the best evar. Time Machine takes a while to update…and the install took an hour and a half…although it initially said 5 hours 😛

No bad parts about it…everything EXCEPT the iChat video calling works. The dock is droolable and spaces is just the best thing ever ever ever.

Vista, time of death 26 October 2007 6pm ...hehe

    Have fun with your Leopards.

    But i don’t have.

Maybe saturday, maybe monday. But soon, and for the rest of my life.

My mum bought a new PC the other day (some pre-made acer jobbie) and i went round to set it up for her.
It had *spit* vista on it and *spit* norton anti-virus.

It took me 2 hours to install vista (bearing in mind it already had vista on it but it does it’s setting up of language or something), remove norton and install the 40 updates for vista.

    2 HOURS!!!!

I hate microsoft. And vista, but not exchange. I quite like exchange. Oh and access, i like access.

I live in Australia and our 6pm is earlier than everyone else’s 😊

Its definitely faster than Tiger and with all the fancy stuff actually runs fast. I thought spaces might be jittery but its as smooth as CI :D

I got my copy yesterday morning. I’ve upgraded my MacBook Pro yesterday evening.

    Ups:
    - I love spaces and it’s quick as lightning (even with such apps as Dreamweaver which are big ressource eaters and take forever to wake up when minimized)
    - Mail IS faster, notes seem handy
    - Quick look preview is amazing (hear me talking Steve Jobs) and it is quick

    Downs:
    - booting time seems MUCH longer, even after the desktop has appeared (you’d think you were running Windows…)
    - there’s a bug with ejecting external drives (USB flash memory, iPods…) they just won’t unmount (I’ve read it’s because of time machine)
    - Airport disk support is TERRIBLE :((( No more auto-mounting at startup… No way to place a shortcut on the desktop or in the finder sidebar… Unless there is something wrong with my install, or I missed something, this is a BIG step backward from Apple. Airport disks were so convenient on Tiger.

Has anyone suffered any issues during the actual install? I’ve tried an upgrade and its failed, forcing me to reinstall Tiger.

    Is it just me?

VISTA = VIRUS INSIDE SWITCH TO APPLE

I am waiting to upgrade since my mac is development box and I don’t want screw stuff up till I have a couple of days. 😉
