Hi, dmadray - welcome to our community.
When evaluating software - any software - it is best to look at the features you need, and to try out the software options and figure out which you are most comfortable using and can do what you want from it.
Direct software to software comparisons are very often not of help; there’s a reason that any given market often has hundreds of possible solutions - they meet the needs of people in different ways, with different approaches and different feels.
For instance, I recently evaluated about 10 software packages for managing my personal budget. They all came highly recommended and were all excellent at what they did. I chose one in particular because it had more of the features I wanted and worked the way I work.
What is your project? What features do you want in your site? We can tell you, here, if ExpressionEngine can meet the needs of your projects; but ultimately, you should try out the available packages and decide which you are most comfortable working on for the long-term. What software can you use to put what you want on your site, how you want it, and will scale into the future as your site grows?
