custom relationship field: gallery category pulldown [solved]

I need to create a relationship field for a weblog that adds a pulldown of “gallery categories” for a given gallery.

Any chance this has been done already?

typically when i post to my blog, i will have 0-10 images i want to show at the foot of my blog entry. I dont want to resort to embedding markup in my posts to show thumbnails for these images, so i would prefer to set up some sort of relationship field that is responsible for choosing what category id to show in the post.

thoghts? 😊

I think I have everything working now. I would hope that 2.0 included such a simple feature on its own.
