    Hi

were using the advanced search form and we have some category groups which are linked to weblogs.  currently all the category groups are pulled into one long drop down list.  i know how to display the categories, but how do i link them to the search form? including the feature where categories are pulled in depending on weblogs?  is this possible?

so basically im after 3 separate drop down lists in my advanced search form. i have looked at post http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/56518/. but i dont think this would work as my weblogs have different category groups.

i still want to keep the search form functionality (keyword searching etc…).

    thanks

Ah- so it’s working- you just want to pull it out so each category group is in a different dropdown?  In truth- I don’t know how you could manage this.  It’s more complicated than in the SAEF, because the dropdown is being populated via js once the weblog is selected.  If you need to keep that ability?  In other words- if you have more than one weblog and those weblogs may have difference cat groups assigned?  Only thing I can think of is to change the js- and I’m bad with js.

I’m going to shift this over to ‘How to’ for brainstorming, but I’m coming up with no good ideas on this one.  You might consider making a feature request for the ability.  Otherwise- I suspect javascript is going to have to be involved.
