I’ve looked through the forum, and haven’t been able to find anything that addresses my question, so here goes.

I have a client who is interested in hosting images on a server other than the server that EE is hosted on. These images will be able to be accessed directly by their URIs, but there is no way to view and index of the directory they are in.

If she goes this route, I will need to set up a gallery of sorts (doesn’t have to use the actual gallery module) to access these images.

It shouldn’t be too much trouble for the images for each folder to be named with consecutive numbers. I could get her to put each new gallery in a subfolder, and then enter that subfolder URL in EE. I could also possibly get her to enter the number of photos in the folder (since EE won’t be able to determine that).

So I guess my question is this: given the base URL, the base image name format, and the number of images, could somebody point me in the right direction as to how I would use this information to construct a series of URLs to hotlink the images?

    Thanks,
    Matt

And something else that would make this even better would be to have a way for the server to log in to the other server by webdav (the only option) so it can look at the directory itself. Anybody know how to do this using either EE (doubtful) or PHP?
