Most of my spare time lately has been filled with running around doing errands in preparation for a deployment in January.

Other than that, I enjoy the occasional Coors Light (and by occasional I mean 4-6 per night), hanging out with my family (married w/ a 1 year old), playing with the dog (1-yr old teacup Chihuahua), playing CounterStrike: Source, or just vegging out on the couch watching TV (Prison Break and Battlestar Galactica FTW).

I blame it on the RIAA, those fuckers. Its sad when corporations like clear channel control our culture so much.

I’m definitely looking forward to season 3, as well as the mini-series coming out at the end of this year: Caprica. I’ve never been addicted to a TV show before, but BSG and Prison Break are like crack to me. I watch them every week if I can and always download the episode as soon as it’s available on the torrent trackers.

Oh yeah - I forgot to mention poker in my spare time list. I’m a semi-pro player, I’ve brought in a few thousand dollars this year playing in tournaments and would love to hit some of the larger, televised, tournaments in the next few years.

    kids man…

I personally (I’m in the US Air Force) work 12-14 hour weekdays, weekends are reserved for taking care of errands (grocery shopping, mowing the lawn, cleaning, etc.) and doing contract work (mostly CI websites).

The American lifestyle is very quick where you must be busy every second of the day - it’s just the way we are influenced by society. Sitting on the couch and vegging isn’t enough - you have to go out to festivals/fairs, go shopping, go to work on your day off, etc.

I’d say the British lifestyle is similar walesmd, I’m pretty much flat out all of the time, I usually sit down about 9.30-10pm on a weekday evening, after making lunch boxes and taxiing kids about, ironing shirts, washing up, helping with homework etc. And then the weekend is as you say, catching up on all the crap that you never found time to squeeze in in the week, and then Monday comes, repeat.

Damn this thread is depressing, I’ve just summed up my life in 2 sentences, and its grim.

Oh, and did I mention that I never have any money to show for all of this!!

    LOL!

    gosh!!!

i believe the kids = free time!!! work isn’t!!

in 2 posts, sorry, these lifestyles aren’t for me!! I my work (i work by myself) is 12-13 hours (a half Jack Bauer), but in the weekend i turn off all and take the person(s) that i love and go out to something. even if go out is in home with beer/barbecure! but believe, i always get sometime in weekday or weekend to fun.

i agree that any “south country” the lifestyle will be very very different…. But when i live I believe we have the sames problems of any big city in world (well, i live in the 4th biggest city in the world, the first in latin america), but still find some free time, or w/ my girl (in 3 months i’ll call wife), or with friends….

Well, each one with your style, right?
