I was just wondering if EE is ADA compliant for the blind?

I had not even given this any thought until I read the following news article about Target being sued because their web site is not optimized for blind people.

Do you mean the control panel, or the front-end templates?  We keep the control panel as accessible as possible, and if you search for “accessibility” you’ll find some threads where we resolved issues with screen readers.  However, if you mean the front-end templates, that’s all up to you.

    Lisa,

I am talking about the end result.  The way I understand it, EE uses the tags to place the content on the page.

So I would guess this would mean is the content shown on the page where a blind person can access it?

You place EE Tags where you want dynamic data pulled out, but you supply the formatting, HTML code, etc.  So you would need to set up your templates to be ADA Compliant, and there are utilities out there to show you what a screenreader would see from the page.  You can also validate s503 (google for it) to help with that as well.
