I’ve been working on a non-javascript tabbed interface much like the one on the EE homepage. To accomplish this I’ve been using links to the ID to switch between tabs. So my question is this, does anyone know how to remove the “#id_name” from the address bar and thus removing it from the browser’s history? I’ve got everything working, but as it stands it’s very inelegant. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Outside of doing it with jQuery or Ajax (both using javascript), I believe you are out of luck getting that out of the URL.  Your browser has to pass the URL w/ #id to call the next “interface”, thus the URL change.
