Will EE work for this site idea?

I’m using EE now for a content heavy site for a client and its going great for the most part.

I have another client coming up- here’s the gist of the iste, do you see any issues with using EE?

Its an ecom site- users sign up and then can create listings for items they have for sale- imagine ebay without the auctions.  Items are for sale for 45 days (so listings expire, np) or when the item sells it “expires”.  Should be np.  My question really is, when another user comes in to buy the item, could simple commerce handle it?  put it in the cart, maybe multiple items, then check out?  Payments will go to the client, who will then disperse funds to the users who sold the stuff.

So on a high level- any issues?

You might get an answer faster if you post this in the Pre Sales Questions forum.

    Hi Chad,

Don’t know if this post will help you at all but Luke Stevens one of the users on this forum recently launched a website that kind of does this sort of thing. Maybe you could ask around there and see if you get any answers although I would say that e-man is correct that this might be more of a Pre Sales kind of question.

Personally myself I would say that EE can be made to do anything you want it to. Granted it may not have a fully fledge commerce module yet and a couple of other small items missing but this can all be created by having a very good understanding of EE and maybe a little bit of giving up most of your life to sort it all out!! 😊

    Hope the link helps though.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
