Betaflow.com just went for $2,000. I put it up for auction with a starting bid of $500, Buy It Not for $2K. It was sold after 4 minutes of being posted.

Maybe I should have set the BIN a bit higher? 😄

No reason to get greedy though - time to pay off some credit cards!

Wow, congrats. Shame you have credit card bills, could have bought a really nice TV with that 😉

What kind of traffic did you get there?

@Kermik: Already have a 52” HDTV Plasma - I’m good in the TV department.

@CI Lee: Performancing.com - it’s a community for bloggers and one of their forums is for selling blogs/domains/etc

@Developer13: On average only 1.5K uniques per month. During hot-topic items, like Facebook’s F7 launch, the launch of Pownce, etc. it spiked, but 1.5K was the average.

    1,500 unique per month??

What was the basis of the value for the sale?

I chose to sale simply because I don’t update the site and it would be nice to have some extra money around. I self-sold advertising space on the site, that amounted to $1,200 every three months, on average. I think the site has a strong monetization opportunity (plus you get invited into all of the betas and conferences).

Surprises me some guy in Wales bought the site though… hard to abuse the free conference invitations when you are thousands of miles away from the valley like he is.

I’m obviously in the wrong business.

    Dude,
$400 a month in revenue and you sold it for $2000? The guy’s going to break even in five months! True, it’s not a passive investment, but I think he got a pretty good deal.

Now tell me how the hell you got those ads on your site! I WANT.

Nah - he wouldn’t have broke even. The site hasn’t received any attention in 3 months - you maybe could sell a few ads for $200 per month, due to the PR, now.

They came to me actually - all you need is an Advertising page. State what slots you have, how much they cost, and what the benefits of advertising on your site are.
