    Hi all,

I am putting together an art gallery site where I would like to associate images to my “exhibitions” weblog entry. I know there is a Gallery category drop-down extension which I have played with, but it seems like a hack to me and I worry that once there are over 50 exhibitions the drop-down will become too cumbersome. I also find the gallery relationship custom field to be nonsensical as I would have to create a totally new gallery with all the correct paths and settings for each “exhibitions” weblog entry. The whole point of using the Photo Gallery is that I can use captions, custom fields and it will make the uploading and management of a large collection of images quick and effective but this essential bit of functionality is missing.

    So what do I do?

I’m sure there are quite a few of you have the same problem, I hope at least one of you have a solution.

Any help in this regard is much appreciated.

You might want to check out Solspace’s Gallery Extended 2 module. (Disclosure: I do work with Solspace.)

@Random_Seed: You can relate a gallery to an entry. For a ‘live’ sample, you can see what I did here: Kevin VanDam Tour Tracker. Each entry in the Tour Tracker is related to a gallery. Scroll to the bottom to see the related gallery. I did that using Robin Sowell’s extension made for this purpose, which tends to get lost on these forums.

    Hi Mdesign,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I used that one before but it seems like a bit of a hack. Looks however like my only option at the moment.

I’m looking into GX2 but I’m not sure it offers me what I need in the EE CP.
