I’d like to create something difficult with ExpressionEngine to understand how flexible the system is.

So from my point of view we should:

    - Create a new weblog called classifieds (example).
    - Create categories and subcategories.
    - Create custom fields which users can fill (Name, Description, etc).
    - Allow file upload (maybe some info, don’t know).
    - Schedule cron to delete entries after XX days.
    - Allow featured posting (can be made by custom status i suppose).
    - Create new template group for the classifieds.
    - and much more.

I described the main features and functionality. I don’t ask for support it’s just a open discussion for those who want to help me our not only to me *_*

So, let’s start with first problems.

Is there a way to create a user fillable field?
When i’m creating custom field it always appears in cp when i’m submitting an entry.
I think (and hope) EE have some special types of custom fields for our purpose.

    File uploading
Doable by a plugin. Correct me please if not.

    And the main thing
How it will be displayed. Let’s assume that user posted the AD. All fields are filled and submitted into database. But how we can display this AD exactly how it was submitted (like post) if random fields are only filled?

Thanks. I’ll be glad if we find the solution together.

    I apologize for my English.

I am not sure I follow: Do you mean a way to submit an entry without going through the control panel? If so, the SAEF might be what you’re looking for.

I am sorry? This submission is an article, as far as EE is concerned, you display it like any other article, on a template of your choice.

Thanks. I read some info related to SAEF and it is exactly what i need.

Does this mean that submited entry (even with SAEF) will be related to the user which have submitted it?

I know that i need to read some info to continue our discussion on the proper level but anyway i’d like to ask the question with primitive example:

Let’s say i created some submission form with SAEF where we have custom field called “Price”.
Then we create a new weblog with user posting rights. After the form have been submitted does the custom field “price” will be still related to the entry? (like EE doing by default).

After that we just need to query entries from the weblog (as always). Am i right?

Define “related”. Yes, it will have that author. Actually, it needs to have an author: No anonymous submissions are accepted via the SAEF.

So, we have a weblog that we can post to via the SAEF. That weblog has a few custom fields. Yes, if these fields are filled out upon submission, they certainly are retained, meaning that we simply need to display these entries later on.
