    Hi,

I’m using .htaccess from the wiki to remove both index.php and the {template_group} from my url’s.
Thing is, when I post a comment on my blog - when I press the submit button it immediately calls the permalink url but with the template_group.

so even thought my url is: /blog/using_sharedobjects_in_flash/

when i press submit comment, it automatically changes the url to: /blog/article/using_sharedobjects_in_flash/

    Any ideas?

    Thanks very much

Removing the template group name isn’t supported and I’d personally advise against it- for pretty much this reason.  Removing index.php isn’t ‘officially’ supported, but if the htaccess works, it really doesn’t have any ramifications for the underlying logic of EE.  Removing the template group isn’t something I’d try.

If you want to dig deeper, though- I can shift this over to ‘How to’- it’s a better fit for this sort of brainstorming.  So- it can probably be worked around (few things can’t), but it’s definitely into the ‘non-standard use’ category.

Thanks Robin. Wouldn’t mind pursuing this if poss. It is mentioned in the Wiki…

    Thanks.

No problem- you’re shifted!  Yep, I’ve seen the wiki on it, but never tried it myself.  My brain is way too set in the template_group/template logic for me to easily shift over.  Generally I just work with the given structure- and now with the ‘Pages’ module, for those times I want to override the typical behavior for a single entry, it’s easy enough.

Luck on hashing it out, though- it’s got to be doable.
