Dont know where to post this but: i wonder why EE keeps unfinished finnish language packs downloadable and further, there is several typos in it. If and when i have the time i will re-translate it. ( I was doing that but then the 1.6.0 pack came and i figured that it is well done…).

Language packs are provided by the community, in this case Ossi Pylväläinen. EllisLab obviously have no way to check on the accuracy and quality of the packs.

heh well i do know that. But one thing is that that you take only those packs what are full-translated. Thats different if there is mispelling in those files. Oh well. I need to take time from somewhere and do this monster job for good 😊 stupid me that i deleted those files that i had ready when i noticed that there is package available.

    Cheers:

Yep- language packs are community provided.  (My Finnish is not up to snuff 😉 ) We’re always happy to get tweaked out new versions, so let us know how it goes.

    (Moving to General discussion)

The language pack when submitted to us was complete, tuittu.  We do only accept packs that are claimed to be fully translated—and yes, we take native speakers’ word for it that their translations are correct; we really do not have a choice in that regard.  When we update ExpressionEngine, we cannot control the speed at which these individuals that submit an updated translated pack submit a new one to us.  In the meantime, we leave the download for the last good language pack up.  Why?  It’s still useful, and it gives opportunity for other users of that language such as yourself to improve the language pack and submit it.  If we took it down, and you wished to use a translated pack, you’d have to start from scratch.
