Dang- I’m using the ‘classic’ theme on my Build: 20070726 and hover works fine in IE and FF.  I’d maybe try uploading a fresh copy of the cp themes folder- assuming you haven’t customized them.  See if that helps.  We’re on the same build, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work.

Not throwing any js errors or anything, is it?

Nah, I’m not seeing any errors and everything seems to be working just as it should. I’ll try to reinstall the themes folder and see what happens. 😊 Thanks

    Hey Robin,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I replaced the themes folder and still no hover effect.

Any other ideas for this matter?

Hi, Deron, thanks for the details.

As I mentioned above, you need to change your theme to the default theme. Both

CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Control Panel Settings

    and

My Account ›  Control Panel Theme

are set to the 31three theme.  I left them as they are so that you can change them to the default theme, but I am sure that will fix your hover problem.

    Lisa,

Thanks for checking that out, and yes it did work this time, but I swear, it didn’t work last time. I did try it when you mentioned it above (must have done something wrong even when doing that).

I’m confused now…what is the difference between the default theme, and 31three? I thought the “default” theme was the old purple theme and the 31three theme was, well, the 31three theme?

Seem they are one in the same except for the hover effect? I mean, with both set to 31three I still have the option to set it to “hover” yet it doesn’t work. Just a bug or by design?

The new default theme is based on 31three, but there are changes—really evident if you’re using MSM.

The Multiple Site Manager is new to 1.6, and the 31three theme has no code to support it.

The 31three theme was made for 1.5.2, by Jesse, to match his redesign of our sites.  1.6 built on that but added to it, to make the default theme much more elegant.  The 31three theme does not work with 1.6, but it is also no longer needed due to the upgrade to the default theme. The classic theme is the old default from 1.5.2 and prior.

It’s neither a bug, nor by design - it is a simply an inter-version incompatibility.

Ah, I see. Makes sense now. Default theme it is! 😊
