I was checking out some of the sites submitted @ CSS Remix to get inspired for a project and found Magento. Its an open-Source eCommerce solution that is coming out this month.
EE better hurry with their full-blown eCommerce module.

It’s a good looking site, but there’s nothing to download or test. And a third (3d) beta is announced for Q1 2008.
I don’t think I’ll hold my breath 😊
That’s a bit of a trend nowadays, no one releases a full product anymore.
I’m pretty sure that when the e-commerce module gets here it will not be a half baked beta but a mature 1.0 version.

I’m really looking forward to see what the e-commerce module has in it. I’ve been using Modernbill for the last 5 years and I like it a lot, but the thought of being able to integrate everything into an EE site sure does sound inviting.

Demo store has a nice order/purchase flow.
And the Magento site is a great example of EE in action.

There is nothing stopping you from using it with your EE site.
