Interesting. PayPal urgently needs some competition.

The site I’m working on right now is using Google Checkout, and so far, we’re liking it. I’ll have to look into Amazon as an alternative option, since my client won’t use Paypal, due to past treatment.

Not to fork this thread, but as far as Google Checkout, does anyone know if they accept donations yet? They weren’t the last time I checked.

I had to close out my PayPal accounts because of far too many fraudulent purchase attempts. It became more work and hassle than it was worth.

I am in an early development phase of a new website which has member payments. For the moment I am using the simple ecommerce module to manage the payments with paypal but I understand from the replies above that paypal might have some problems and there are other options. Are google checkout and amazon payments easy to integrate with EE?

Google checkout was waiving fees until what November of this year, I think? Makes that worth checking into for the short-term.
I didn’t realize Amazon had a pay system, other than if you were buying Amazon products from their store, their review system on things is the authority I always check that for a general opinion on a book or a movie.

I’m sure the Api is over my head, but the business advantages can be obvious when comparing systems.
Thanks for the insider info on some payPal prob’s too JT.
