    Hello Everyone!

We switched over a podcasting site from Loudblog (http://www.loudblog.com/index.php), its been a great switch; however, Loudblog provides statistics (more or less a count) on the number of times a MP3 has been played via the Flash Player or downloaded via Web? Is there a way to implement a feature like this and how would I even start?

Secondly, we did try putting analytics on the site, like Google Analytics, but its just not the same.

    Thanks,
    bjs

Tracking podcast downloads and listens is the one thing that podcasters haven’t quite figured out yet. Some people have gotten close, but it’s not quite there. I don’t know where you would start with tracking listens in the flash player. Maybe you can still use their service for that and just embed the flash player on your new site?

I would try Feedburner for tracking your podcast feed and downloads if you want to host your own files. They are by far the best at this. Another service you could use is Libsyn, but that’s hosting. If you host your files with them, they’ll also provide you some reliable stats.
