One year ago from yesterday, Derek Jones started working full time for us.  That’s when it all started going wrong.  I stopped going into the forums as often to do support.  Bugs were being fixed magically without me figuring out why they even existed.  Add-Ons were approved without me lifting barely a finger.  New code got written without Rick and I doing anything.  And during all of this work that happened without us doing it, we still somehow got pay raises.  Is this what it is to be a CTO and have employees?  Nice!  Still, there is a slight downside to having employees.  Paperwork.  Oy…

Oh, and Paul, with all that new free time (a whole years worth) you must be ready to release that eCommerce module I would imagine. 😉

Derek, congratulations, and hope you are enjoying it as much as people are enjoying your presence.

Architecture:  always a very useful, and very valuable thing.

    Best regards,

A heart-felt congratulations Derek, and an extra special thank you for personally bailing me out of at least a predicament a month over the last year. You are making some pretty amazing things happen at “the lab” and your contributions are both noticed and greatly appreciated.

    Keep up the great work!

...and would the rest of you please stop bugging poor Paul about the commerce module. He knows, trust me he knows,. .  I’m sure he wants the darn thing released as bad as you and I. I’m confident that he’s building something pretty amazing that will make the rest of us look like rock-stars when we roll it out to our clients, we just need to wait a bit, and trust that he’s working on it. Good wine takes time!
