I’m wondering if there was any plans for a EE complete book? I know the documentation is excellent (best I’ve ever read concerning online documentation) as well as the forum but abook would be nice, somewhere where all the information is organized into one place.

There used to be a pdf of the docs that was made by one member. Not sure if it’s still available or updated to 1.6

I found the FriendsOfEd book, Blog Design Solutions to be rather useful when I was first evaluating a bunch of CMS options.

(It does reference an old version of EE, though, and is by no means comprehensive as development is concerned.)

I, too, would love to see a “Designing Sites with EE” sort of project, which I’m sure will eventually happen, especially as EE continues to grow in notoriety among designers.

As I mentioned in another thread, Mike Boyink is putting on an excellent EE How-To series on his blog, at http://www.boyink.com/splaat/comments/building-an-expressionengine-site-chapter-3/.

Yep, I think his Building a Church Site is excellent and could form a good part of a book.

There is a book on ExpressionEngine called :

    Building Websites With ExpressionEngine 1.6

I was very lucky and asked to be the technical reviewer for the book and have to say that for beginners it would be a very good book to learn from. Even for more seasoned developers there are still items in there that you can learn from.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
