So I have all this data from another CMS (not any of the common ones, though) and I’d like to get it all into EE.  I’ve read the wiki page on importing and know what is all possible, but I’m looking for personal experiences on what import format/method is the best.  I need all my articles and associated comments, along with as much of the related info (summaries, authors, categories, etc.) as possible.  I’m a programmer so I can write some scripts to get the data in the correct form, but I’m looking for some tips as to what form this should be.

What are your experiences?  Thanks so much.

You will have the least trouble with the MT file import format, since EE can import that for you. It preserves comments, categories, and the four MT fields title, body, extended and summary. Actual import is generally painless.
