Morning,
Not sure if the message i posted yesterday got to you guys. I am going to type out the question again.
Initial Question:
Are you able to integrate your forum module into the body of a
main home page, like the one from the link below? Maintaining the links on the left hand side, and tabs on the top.
e.g: http://forums.hardwarezone.com/
Because when i use the EE forum module, i am not able to maintain the links on the left hand side, and tabs on the top. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!
If we are able to, where i can find out how?
Reply from EE:
For #1 I’m a little fuzzy on what you’re going for. You can run the forum in a subdomain like that- it will show on the sub.mysite.com - there’s a hidden config variable that will allow you to set the base path (see use_forum_url. But- I’m not sure that’s what you’re asking. If you can put the links in the forum templates, no reason they can’t be maintained. They’d need to be hard coded, as the forum won’t parse most regular template tags, but it seems like it would be mostly a matter of editing the templates. (Think I may be missing something on this one.)
Follow up Question:
Sorry for not being clear. I am not the actual person doing the programming, so please excuse my non technical terms, and am seeking clarification as my web dev’s say the following is impossible to do.
Imagine a web page has 3 sections.
1. top portion spanning left to right (tab)
2. bottom left portion below the top portion (table of contents)
3. bottom right portion below the top portion (main body with text messages like “about us”
Right now, when i click on the forum tab, the forum module from EE loads, and occupies portion 2. and 3.
Is it possible to let it just occupy portion 3? Leaving and maintaining portion 1. and 2.
Please take a look at this site as an example

If so, could you please guide me to the place/resource to be able to do so. MANY THANKS
