Best Approach as CMS?

I’m using EE as a full CMS for a site I’m currently developing and its working great, but there are a few concerns.

After I set up a page full of content, the weblog running that particular page remains visible under the publish menu. I really don’t want the user to have the ability to to “publish” more content to this section…. they only need the ability to edit what is already there.

So…. what would be the best approach here?  Is there some way to remove the weblog from the “publish” menu, or is there a better approach to using EE as a full CMS?

It’d be great to hear your suggestions!  Thanks!

You might search for “hidden weblogs” in the extension forums, I believe there is a Mark Huot extension for hiding weblogs.

    Found it http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/41259/.

I noticed they were talking about making certain weblogs static?  Are they referring to making the templates static? If so, are they still editable from the EE CP?

I think that they were discussing the Static Pages module by Mark Huot, which has been superceded b the first-party Pages module.
